ALL Aboard the Birthday TRAIN!

Happy Birthday Scrapmatters!
And, welcome to YOU, to my blog...that's me...Haynay Designs! :)

We are celebrating SM's 3rd birthday, and as a tribute, I am to share a memorable birthday memory. (that's a bit redundant.) I can't help but remember my son's first birthday! It wasn't the usual first birthday, but was very memorable! His birthday is Sept. 16, 2000....so you guessed it, his first birthday was 5 days after the tradgedy of 9-11 in NYC. My in-laws were "stuck" in Europe, unable to get home because of lack of flights, my best friend's husband was called up to the National Guard....AT the PARTY! H had a rubber ducky themed party, with an adorable duck cake that I made (my first with Mom's help), which split in two while we were at church. He was BLUE from the icing after he ate his cake. It was a fun party with special people there, but surrounded by sorrow and tragedy! Here is a picture of my son now. He's grown up to be almost ten now, and is a handsome young man if I do say so! (I so wish I had a picture of that day, but no digital pics then...and I'm not near any pics that I can scan.)

You should have come from Jenn's Blog!

So, how 'bout my freebie?
