Vacation Days

We are having a great time in Colorado on vacation! I just love it here! Going from 103 to 75 degrees for the high is just absolutely awesome! We've already gone on a picnic, gone to a wine festival, gone to the park, etc. Hunter and Heath took a fly fishing float trip yesterday. Hunter caught 3 fish. He loved it. I just wanted to say hi to everyone. I am going to try to get another set of papers done so I can put them up in the next few days. I have to come to the library for internet access, so i am a bit slow...Here are some pictures of our picnic from Sunday.

Paper Pack Freebie

We've had a good day today. We went to the aquarium and botanical gardens. Kids loved it, especially when they fed the sharks! Took lots of pictures I can't wait to download and scrap! Then, after lunch and a stop at REI, we came back to the hotel and crashed. I love a nap!

I've worked on some papers. I've had a small request to do some stuff that might match Disney pictures. To me, that would be bold, bright colors. So, today, I felt like red. I am wearing a red t-shirt. I must feel in control today! Anyway, here is a preview....

Okay, I am SO TIRED! Yesterday we got up at 4:15; then traveled and did all sorts of stuff in New Mexico....today we got up early b/c Heath had an interview. So, we drove to Santa Fe. The kids an I had the best time at the Children's Museum. Totally fun! I wanted to get a freebie done tonight, but my bed is calling my name in a serious way. Maybe I'll get one done tomorrow! I need a little down time in the hotel room after the past two days!

New LO and vacation

Hey everyone...

We are leaving for a vacation today. I'm not sure how much internet usage I'll be getting to, but will try to post some. In addition, I hope to be working on a new kit and some freebies. So, keep your eyes open!

Here is a LO I did last night. I needed some therapy after a long day of cleaning, packing, and then my daughter was acting awful! I hope she is just still tired from our active weekend. I used stuff from various kits by Britt-ish Designs. The LO was for a Challenge on the DIS boards using the colors of Dori from Finding Nemo.

ScrapMatters is having a speed scrap today, actually 2-one at noon my time and one at 9 pm! I have no idea if I can make one or not. We are leaving here around 2 and not getting to Dallas until evening. So, it will be a tight squeeze, and how do I tell my hubby, can we wait to leave until I finish this page! HA! I hope to be able to make one, but I am not counting on it!

Back from the Lake

We are back! The Nay family had the absolute best time ever! Our friends, Josh and Marci, were the best hosts and showed us a great time! We swam, knee boarded, surfed, tubed, ate, and road in the boat. The kids were so happy and content the entire weekend, as were Heath and I! Here are some pictures from the weekend. Some of the ones I truly wanted to show I think we took with Marci's camera...I'll have to get copies asap!

The family...Mady was scared; we later found out that she thought sharks were living in the lake and were going to eat her...after we explained otherwise, she got much better!

Heath is surfing right behind the boat, I mean within arms reach...these guys are crazy. But, I might be more so b/c Sunday, I let him take Mady and Hunter on the board! YIKES! Heath's feet while surfing...he's crazy, seriously!

Jump Frame Freebie

I am getting ready to go to the lake, but wanted to leave you all a little something! I've discovered an acrylic action! And, then I was inspired by a frame I made that is sitting on my desk....here is a picture of it! Yes...I am a paper/hybrid scrapper too! I've been doing that since Heath and I were married, so nearly 12 years!

Fun at the Speed Scrap!

I had so much fun at the Speed Scrap tonight at ScrapMatters. I came up with a page that is one of my favorites ever! Just look...I used Calalily's All Girl Kit! Loved it. I did make the title and tiny frame, plus the brown ribbon hanging down. Anyway, really enjoyed this SS!

Today has been a good day so far! We've gone swimming, done some never ending laundry...plus I've had some time to design a few things. One thing I did was another alpha. I need to finish getting the laundry done and getting the house finished. Friday, we are going to Hot Springs with our friends Josh and Marci, plus their two sweet boys, Seth and Mark. Can't wait. We always have the best time with them on the lake with the boat and jet skis. Hunter is probably the most excited! He wants to learn to knee or wake board this summer I think! All of that to say, not sure if I'll get freebies posted this weekend, but maybe I can put a couple together in advance. It will depend on how everything goes! Good morning ladies and gentlemen ! Welcome to my very first challenge to host -- at Ahhh Scraps, well actually ever!

So, this week we are having a color challenge. I did a bit of research to learn more about the month of July. Did you know that July is National Ice Cream month? It is! This is good news for me because I love ice cream! So, in salute to ice cream we are doing a challenge based on the colors of banana splits!

We have three rules-in honor of the three scoops on a banana split:

1. You MUST use these colors in your LO! (You can add other colors if need be)

2. You need to recolor your photos to sepia in honor of chocolate-my favorite. (You can have any number of photos you want)

3. You must have a circle on your page in honor of the cherry on top!

Jump Alpha Freebie

Hey! You asked for it and you got it! I have made a jump alpha. My problem was deciding what color to use...so I made one with the yellow. I find myself always using yellow in the Jump pages. You can download them here!!!

BusyDay and look at this picture!

So today was so busy, though I am not sure what i did! HA! No really, the kids let me lie in bed till 9. That was awesome. I got up and started cleaning the house and tackling the piles of laundry. Gag, i really hate laundry! So, then we decided to go swimming for a couple of hours. That was great b/c it was super hot (high 90s) and the water felt great. I guess I missed a few spots on my back with the sunscreen b/c now I have a dang sunburn. I hate that.

After we came home, mady and mommy took a good nap while Hunter watched tv, and Heath did some research. Then we took the kids to see Wall-E. I can't decide what I thought about it. There was some things I loved about it: the animation, the ability to give a character SO much personality w/ no words! Plus, the originality of the script! I love Disney/Pixar! BUt, it was rather boring...if I heard Eve or Walle one more time i was going to pull my hair out! Oh well....the kids loved it and that is really what matters! I made yummy Rachel Ray pasta (thank you Tbap for that recipe heads up). Then was inspired to clean the kitchen so I could participate in the Speed Scrap at ScrapMatters.com! SO much fun! Here is the LO I ended up with: (Oh and look at this picture of my kids. Can you tell how happy Mady was to see her Hunter? It might be one of my favorite of them!)

CT LOs

Okay, so I thought my funk would go away when I woke up Sunday morning. I was better, oh so much better. The family drove up to Branson to pick up my son from camp...he LOVED it! We've already signed him up for next year! He's SO tan and happY! I swear he grew another inch! He also forgot that his three year old sister is not a 7+ year old little boy. We went swimming today, and I'm pretty sure she drank about 5 gallons worth of pool water! He just would not leave her alone! But, we are all happy he's home! I missed him so much. And, I guess he missed me too, since he won't leave me alone for five seconds.

Anyway, back to my funk. As we drove home yesterday, i was Funk-di-fied again...what the heck is wrong with me? Jeez....Even my hubby's noticed. I am just in a mood. I'm trying so hard to be in a happy go lucky mood, but its just not coming. No clue as to what to do. Oh well, I'm sure I'll snap out of it...maybe my "krewe" of friends will have a ice cream break for me. Its one of my favorite things we do for each other....if one of us is in a funk, at a certain time of a specified day, each of us stop and eat ice cream. (I should mention now we are all over the nation: NJ, NY, NC, AR, and soon to be PA) Its a funk banishment ritual....I love my "krewe"...and if any of you are reading this...remind me of it tomorrow on the message board! HA! I need all the help I can get. And if anyone would like to join us, go ahead, have a scoop and think of my funk banishment! What a great excuse!

Skip Circles...Freebie

Have you ever just had a day that you should have never gotten out of bed? Jeez, it was a lousy day. I was just in a foul mood; no one did anything, but I was on edge all day. I guess we all have those days. Oh well, what do you do? Tomorrow is another day. A day that we are going to pick Hunter up from camp! YEAH! I can't wait to see my little man! I did a couple of LOs today. This one is with my new stuff I put in the store. I made a couple of paper packs of solid grungy papers. They are great. Here is a preview. I had a pretty boring 4th here. DH was working, DS at camp and it rained so Mady and I couldn't even go swimming! Okay, raining isn't the word. Let's just say the thunder scared her so bad she couldn't take her nap! Anyway, so I scrapped, alot! I did several LOs for my CT gigs, plus I totally went through all of my digi scrap stuff and deleted--alot! I went through and deleted everything that I got and didn't know wasn't my style at the time...anyone else do that? But, I needed some space on my external hard drive for all my design stuff....so deleted I did! Here are the LOs I did.

So, I am finally back home from Tejas! Though its so good to visit with my parents, sister, and nephew, there is something about being home.
