the sky is cool...

I love living in the mountains. It's always been a favorite vacay spot for Heath and I, but to actually live here is awesome. I think it's just absolutely beautiful. We just went to Baskin Robbins for dessert (where I had the YUMMY gold ribbon ice cream...a blend of vanilla and chocolate with caramel running through it!) and while we were there a rain shower came through. And, it left the sky just beautiful.

I think I'll never ever get sick of clouds, rain showers, sunsets. I think the sky is an amazing thing that God created...and we can look at it all the time knowing how cool he is. I took my picture of the day of one very amazing part of the sky tonight...this was literally 10 minutes ago, driving back to the house. (Heath was sweet enough to stop in the middle of the road for me!)

I mean seriously, how COOL is that?!?!?!? It leaves me in awe of our Creator!

I have nothing else to say really, sorry if this bored you, I just HAD to get this picture out there! Hope you all have a fabulous weekend!

Kanakuk rocks!

I love Kanakuk. I know most of you are like huh? But, Kanakuk is a fantastic Christian Sports camp located in Missouri. My husband grew up going there and attests that it changed his life. Now, we send our son, and eventually our daughter. I'm so thankful that we are able to do it-even though the 25 days being away from H is hard. He learns so much there about God!

Tonight we went to family night at kamp. H doesn't get to come with us until the morning, but it was so amazing to see him. He probably grew an inch...i know he grew out of a pair of shoes! plus, he has a new tooth coming in. I guess only a mom would notice that! LOL! Anyway, we got to spend time exploring kamp, talking to his counselors, praising God, and laughing at the funny skits! H got the FUAGNEM award, also known as the Fired up and Going Nuts Every Minute award! People who know him are not surprised at all! I'm not sure if this is a good award or not, but his counselors said that he brought enthusiasm to every single thing they did--which I'm sure is good sometimes and bad at other times! LOL! I just can't imagine where he gets that from! (Although I'm sure my parents and Heath's parents both know!)

So, I guess I'll post some pictures of the night...I'm totally starting a Kanakuk book. I have the pictures from last year that I have made pages of...and will do the same this year. He'll treasure it at the end of his Kuk journey. Enjoy...

My little man...oh how I missed you! I LOVE YOU!

H and his counselors

M took this picture of Heath, H and I (can I just say, I love this picture of me! which doesn't happen often!)

Had to leave the shades on b/c i had tears!

Do you think they were excited to se each other! I need to look at this picture when they are fighting within the next 24 hours! ;)

My boys

H hugged Heath every two minutes for the first hour. So sweet.

the family, so happy to be together again...

The Children's Museum and a sneak peek!

Yesterday we needed to get out of the house. We'd been to the park, and I'm trying not to spend money, so Target or the mall is out of the question. Therefore, I took M to the Children's Museum. Now, if you have never been to the Santa Fe Children's Museum...you really should go. It's a good one, and we've been to several! Here are some pics of M playing/learning!

Putting on a puppet show!
Playing in the music garden

holding a snail

dressing up as a princess (her face is painted like an Indian Princess)

Climbing in the preschool areathe chair pulley
the bubble maker

She really did have a blast! She can't wait to take H when he gets home from camp! Which reminds me...only 3 days till he comes home! We'll see him in 2! Yippeeeeeee!

And, I've got a new kit coming out this week...and here is a sneak peak

See you Friday with the reveal!

We need your help!

So, I just heard from my Sister-in-law and she needs our help. Here is what she asks (me too!)

PLEASE call Senator Harry Reid's office at 202-224-3542 and ask for him to bring s 1304 to a vote on the Senate floor. It will restore affected Chrysler and GM dealer's franchise rights!!!

Give the bill a chance to at least be voted on...then call/email your senators to support the bill! Thanks so much for the help with this!!!

Speed Scrappin' Saturday night!

Heath and I worked hard on the house today...in fact, he totally blew out his back. Poor guy. Hopefully the Advil and hot bath made it a little better! We are getting closer and closer, but still have far to go. My living room is almost there, but I totally had to start a list of "Furniture we need to buy." My LR is HUGE...and we only have a couch, trunk, rug, tv, and tv table. I need a lot more, and it will come, but it might take a long while! LOL!
Plus we worked on the office and our bed/bath. Most importantly, Heath got the cable run from the attic into our room. The cable guy couldn't run the wire down the wall b/c of liability. well, i have one talented hubby, who had done this bunches of times...and couldn't successfully do it this time! LOL! But, he did somehow manage to find a way to get cable. We watch tv each night as we go to sleep and it has been super hard not to have tv in our room. I mean, we are talking nearly 13 years of doing that!
What else? Oh, got a lot of pictures hung too. That makes all the difference in the world! So, as he rested his back tonight, I decided to speed scrap with Erica...the Queen of Scrap at SM! It was her first, and she did a fantastic job with her instructions. And, remember yesterday when I said I was dying to get some of the new releases? Well, I did it! This evening in preparation for the SS, i got WM[squared]'s newest kit: Beach Bum...I mean look at this...isn't it to die for!!!

So, I just had to use it tonight. And look at what I came up with. Love it!

Well, thanks for reading my little blog. I hope all of you have a great Sunday! I need to take M to the park tomorrow....I promised! Good night!

Christmas in July?

Hey all! Just here to announce a sale at SM!

This is perfect if you are like me and have SO many Christmas pictures to scrap...this gives you a little motivation!

An update...good news

A few weeks ago, I wrote about my father-in-law's Dodge dealership being taken away. You can read about it here. And, I wanted to update everyone on this b/c today we got some exciting news! HR 2743 is a bill in the House to give back the Chrysler dealerships to the dealers who rightfully own the franchises. Well, today the bill made it out of committee!!! It's going to the House floor!

My father in law, Sam is going to DC on Monday! We would be more than appreciative for anyone and everyone to contact their State Representative in favor of this bill. Essentially when Chrysler took away all of these dealerships, they broke franchise laws in every single state. If our gov't says it's okay to do this...then who else's businesses can be taken away? Please tell them you are in favor of HR 2743. You can click here, https://writerep.house.gov/writerep/welcome.shtml to find the information about how to contact your Representative.

Thanks in advance for anyone who does this!

I love a Speed Scrap

So, I made it to the SS this morning. and let me just say...Christy, if you are reading this...i LOVED the instructions. And, Cyndi, if you are reading this, that template ROCKED! Seriously, so awesome! So, here was what I made, and I really love it!

credits

And, if you like those polka dot papers...which i totally do, go grab them! They are actually designed by one my former Hunnies, Sarah Bennett. Go here to grab them in this fabulous bundle! They are on sale for $2.50!!! What a deal! I actually had to double take when I saw that fabulous price! So, here is where you can grab them!

And, I am a loser...but, at least I have the moving excuse! We have an awesome special at SM, if you Spend $20, in one order, and receive the fantastic Mega Template Set for free. It will automatically be added to your cart once your cart subtotals $20. Here is the preview...and, the one I used today, is in that pack! What a deal! So, go grab something out of the store...something of mine of course, just joking! LOL! No seriously, this is a great bonus! And, Friday...there are some seriously awesome kits coming out from the designers!!! It will be a perfect opportunity to spend $20 and get the templates!

Home Again

I'm a traveling girl! Long ago, we had made plans to meet Heath's parents for the Fourth of July in Crested Butte a few days after our move. Who knew the move would be so awful, but we went anyway...much to my stressful objections. I thought it would be too much! I was wrong. After we got there, I finally got to relax a bit! I didn't realize how stressed I'd been and it was awesome to do nothing for a few days! I even took naps and slept "late"! We ate yummy meals-as always and played "Hand and Foot" for hours. I apparently rock at individual play, but Sam and I could NOT beat Heath and Molly. Revenge will wait until August!
Anyway, Molly and Sam have been wanting us to come to CB for the 4th for years, but since Heath has worked every 4th of July the past 5-6 years, not possible. They wanted us to experience the quirky, fun, small-town 4th that is CB! And, we LOVED it! I cannot share all of the photos that I want, but I have LOTS!

M and I at the pancake breakfast waiting to ride the cherry picker.

Heath, M, and I on the cherry picker. AKA firetruck basket!

M sitting in a firetruck. Loves it!

M picking flowers out of the baskets on the MAIN street of CB. Molly and I were shopping, Heath was walking Emma...Sam was in charge of M. So, instead of stopping her from picking the flowers? yes, he took pictures...and I'm so glad! LOL!

M getting ready for the parade to start!

the fam (minus H) at the parade.

Family with Sam and Molly

After the parade, we went home. Heath decided to play with Emma. Well, when he threw the dummy and directed her to get it, she leaped off a high ledge, fell, and cut open her belly. The laceration was nasty. I saw it, but didn't mean to! Anyway, of course, Heath had the supplies to stitch her up while Sam and I held her. She was awesome! So, of course, I had to take pictures!

Heath had to make sure Emma still loved him. She does.

So, we came back home today. I'm so ready to get my office organized, my calendar updated, and start designing again! Oh, and to unpack my house too! LOL! Hope everyone has a great day! Happy Belated Fourth of July! May FREEDOM ring for everyone!
